Welcome to the website of the Department of Accounting. The Department of Accounting provides undergraduate and master's programs. Undergraduate students attend classes at Taipei campus, while all master's students attend classes at Jihe Complex, opposite Shihlin Night Market. The department's highly-experienced faculty not only takes teaching seriously but also pays great attention to students’ lives and their career development. The students have faith in their teachers to lead them to learn professional knowledge, participate in activities, grow and thrive.
With regard to curriculum planning, the core accounting lessons focus on nurturing students’ professional skills and literacy with the goal to obtain accredited bookkeeper and accountant licenses. This core is supplemented with tax in practice, management, legal and accounting information courses to expand students’ vision and orientation. To cultivate international concepts, third-year students can apply for student exchange programs with more than 90 cooperating foreign sister schools. To promote the industry-academia cooperation, the Department offers fourth-year student internship courses to allow students to get practical training in cooperating accounting firms and general enterprises with the purpose to prepare students for entering the workplace successfully. For students who wish to continue their studies, the Department also provides a five-year plan wherein senior students can apply to take advanced courses, thereby obtaining both bachelor and master degrees within five years to help them with efficient career planning.
Looking ahead, in addition to continuing to focus on cultivating students’ professional accounting abilities and guiding them to obtain licenses, the Department of Accounting also strives to establish departmental characteristics to enhance students’ internationalization and creative skills. In 2018, we grouped our professional courses into accounting & auditing program and tax planning program. Besides, the faculty and administrative team regularly assess students’ records and adjust the curriculum framework whenever necessary to align it with the needs of professional practice, so that students can learn the required knowledge to meet the future needs of the country and society.
